Iron Ore - Pontal Project

Iron Ore - Pontal Project

The central Amazon Province is the least geologically explored area in South America with great potential for world-class mineral deposits. It is one of the few remaining areas in the world with the potential to host giant iron ore deposits.

The Pontal Project comprises three tenements to the west of the Xingu River, covering the meta-sedimentary basin of post-Archean and pre-Gorotire age. The fold belts are intruded by granites which are a potential source for hydro-thermal enrichment as has occured in Carajas iron ore.
